SUMMARY:2019 ATHENA Fall Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Annual ATHENA Leadership Luncheon on September 6 at the Walldorff Brewpub & Bistro. Tickets are $25 which include a catered lunch. This Luncheon will be the kick-off for ATHENA Nominations and will also honor Past Recipients.\n\n\n\nLuncheon Theme: Letting go of the life you had planned and learning to find joy and peace in the journey of the life that you are living.\n\n\n\nOur keynote speaker is Janis Fitzgerald. Janis worked as a computer programmer and project manager at Old Kent Bank for 16 years before being laid off months after the birth of her twin boys.  She was a Jazzercise franchise owner and instructor  for 11 years and Yogafit instructor for 2 years.  Janis moved to Barry County after she began working at Hastings Mutual Insurance Company in the IT Department as the Technical Support Manager.  Shortly afterwards Janis was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 39.  Within 3 years of the original diagnosis the cancer returned to her bones and lungs.  Janis has been living with metastatic breast cancer for over 11 years. Janis is an avid  volunteer in the community and will share her story of living with terminal cancer.\n\n\n\n\nThe ATHENA Leadership Award and ATHENA Young Professional are two awards recognizing those who exemplify and support female leadership in Barry County. Presented by the Barry County Chamber of Commerce at its annual awards banquet in January\, these awards are presented to worthy recipients selected via an open nomination process.Letting go of the life you had planned and learning to find joy and peace in the journey of the life that you are living.
