DESCRIPTION:MI-House Candidate Meet & Greet \n\nBCCEDA will host an invite-only meet & greet with Democratic House candidate Zach Abbott on July 13 from 9:00am-10:30am. This event is open to the public\, but registration is required as seating is limited.  The candidate meet & greet is intended to provide a direct opportunity to constituents and residents to provide feedback\, as questions\, and highlight key community priorities and concerns.\n\n\n\nAbout the Candidate:\n\nZach Abbott is running as a Democrat for state representative of Michigan's 79th district. He has called the 79th district home for as long as he can remember and currently lives in Caledonia Township After graduating from Calvin University\, Zach interned for The Right Place\, Inc. providing business intelligence and data visualizations for West Michigan businesses\, non-profits\, and stakeholders. Next\, Zach joined the Air Force\, serving our country as a weather forecaster and keeping our pilots and equipment safe through the use of advanced weather models and knowledge of weather patterns. Currently\, Zach is an administrative assistant at Calvin University where he assists three departments on a wide range of tasks.\nZach is also a husband and father of three kids. He and his wife have been married for over seven years.\n\n \n\nTopics I hope to discuss:\n\nI am hoping to discuss workforce development\, housing\, infrastructure\, healthcare\, childcare\, broadband\, and agriculture. I will share my ideas on how the State of Michigan can grow our economy\, address issues of affordability\, and balance economic growth and community development with agricultural preservation and the rural character of much of Barry County. Throughout the discussion\, I will share my views on what I feel the relationship between the State of Michigan\, local governments\, economic development organizations\, and businesses should be.\n\n\n\nRegistration is required to ensure adequate seating.\n\n \n\nThis event is intended solely to facilitate dialogue and information sharing.
