SUMMARY:The Leadership Exchange - Shaping the Future Workforce
DESCRIPTION:Shaping the Future Workforce: Local Insights\, National Impact\n \n\nWorkforce may not always be the headline\, but it is the throughline. It surfaces in conversations about the cost of living and global competitiveness\, education and immigration\, and the impact of technological change. However\, the U.S. spends significantly less on workforce programs than almost every other nation. As a result\, local businesses are left without the support they need to thrive in a rapidly changing economy and tackle the nation's toughest challenges.\n\n \n\nTo better understand what businesses want in a re-imagined workforce system we are hosting listening sessions across the country to identify new ideas about what it would take to truly build a system that gets businesses the right skilled labor. One of those sessions will be here in Barry County.\n\n\n\nJoin us for this special Leadership Exchange as we bring together local employers\, community leaders\, and workforce partners to share their experiences\, challenges\, and innovative solutions. This discussion will focus on what businesses in rural communities are seeing on the ground\, where workforce systems are succeeding\, where they are falling short\, and what changes are needed to better connect employers with skilled talent.\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe conversation will be led by Jeran Culina\, a Middleville native and leader with the National Skills Coalition\, who works to advance policies and strategies that help businesses access the skilled workforce they need. Drawing on both national perspectives and her local roots\, Jeran will guide a discussion focused on the realities facing employers in Barry County and rural communities across the country.\n\n \n\nYour perspective is essential. We invite you to contribute your expertise and insights as we explore how to build a workforce system that equips individuals with the skills businesses need and helps employers find the right people for the right jobs from day one.\n\n \n\nTogether\, we can help shape solutions that strengthen our local economy while informing the future of workforce development nationwide.\n\n \n\nAbout the Facilitator: Learn more about Jeran Culina and her work with the National Skills Coalition: https://nationalskillscoalition.org/about-us/staff/jeran-culina/
