SUMMARY:Youth Summer Camps at KCC Hastings: Safesitter Essentials
DESCRIPTION:Safe Sitter Essentials:\n\nDo you feel ready to stay at home alone\, watch your younger family members or babysit? Then this camp is for you!  Join us to learn the skills you need to care for yourself and younger children.  We'll teach  you how to prevent unsafe situations\, and what to do when faced with dangers (such as power failures) or weather emergencies.  We will also provide ways to help manage behavior\, learn about ages and stages of child development\, and practice diapering.  In addition\, we will cover how to screen jobs and discuss fees.  At the end of the camp\, you will receive a certificate of completion\, a babysitting toolkit\, and the skills you need to be prepared\, responsible\, and considerate\, whether you are babysitting for family\, friends\, or neighbors.  Students will have a supervised lunch period and need to bring a lunch.\n\n\n\nHastings Bruin Youth Summer Camps:  Bruin youth programming is an initiative of Kellogg Community College's Lifelong Learning Department.
