Barry County is accepting applications for a Deputy County Administrator/Finance Director. The salary range is $107,500-117,500 and a comprehensive benefits package is provided.Deputy County Administrator/Finance Director
The purpose of this job is to under limited supervision; perform managerial and administrative duties to assist the County Administrator in directing and supervising the day-to-day operations of County departments. Responsible for ensuring that a system of accounting is in place and properly maintained in all county functions. Assists the County Administrator with strategic and organizational planning and policy guidance. Assumes the responsibilities of the County Administrator as assigned or in the absence of that official.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business or related field.
Experience: 7+ years of experience with governmental accounting, finance, and budget as well as human resources/personnel.
Knowledge of:
• County budgeting, accounting, mathematics and software
• Employee pay scales and benefits
• Fixed asset policies and procedures and audit requirements
• County personnel policies and bargaining agreements
• Health insurance
• County government departments, county boards and commissions and county policies
• FOIA requirements, including county procedures and guidelines
• Risk management program and Worker’s Compensation program
