Position: Network and Systems Administrator Location: Barry County Central Dispatch – 2600 Nashville Rd. Hastings, MI 49058 Application Deadline: Close of Business on Friday, February 14, 2024 Position Summary: In addition, this role will provide technical support for systems used by public safety agencies, ensuring that the infrastructure is operational, secure, and compatible with the needs of first responders. Key Responsibilities: · Oversee the security, functionality, and operation of radio equipment, network equipment, switches, firewalls, computer systems, back up power sources and surge suppression systems. · Act as the primary contact for third-party vendors and manage vendor relationships. · Provide support for systems such as Enhanced/Next Gen 9-1-1, CAD, MDCs, LEIN, and radio systems. · Serve as the LASO, ensuring compliance with CJIS and other relevant security standards. · Manage network administration, including user accounts, backups, upgrades, and troubleshooting. · Respond to emergencies and technical service needs on a 24-hour basis. · Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Criminal Justice, or a related field. · Minimum of 3 years of experience with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems. · Strong working knowledge of networking systems, public safety systems (e.g., E911, NG911, LEIN), and troubleshooting techniques. · Familiarity with LEIN (Law Enforcement Information Network) is preferred. · Ability to manage system security, backup protocols, and disaster recovery planning. · Excellent communication skills and ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment. · Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License and the ability to pass a criminal background check. · Familiarity with LAN/WAN, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows and Lynx-based systems. · Experience in providing technical support and training to public safety personnel. · Experience and knowledge of the 911 industry is preferred. · Vacation Leave · Sick Leave · Personal Leave · MERS Hybrid Retirement, MERS Healthcare Savings Plan and Optional MERS 457 · Healthcare . *Note: A person with a disability or handicap requiring accommodation for completing the application process should notify theNetwork & Systems Administrator

Barry County Central Dispatch is seeking a skilled and dedicated Network and Systems Administrator to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Director, this position will be responsible for the analysis, development, installation, and maintenance of the dispatch center’s network, hardware, radio, and operating systems. The successful candidate will also serve as the Local Agency Security Officer (LASO) and will be expected to ensure security compliance, including adhering to CJIS guidelines for law enforcement data access.
