Hastings Promotes Brian Baum to CEO, Marking Four Generations of Family Leadership
HASTINGS, Mich.—Hastings Fiber Glass Products is proud to announce the promotion of Brian Baum to Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In his new role, Baum is responsible for providing long-term strategic planning and direction, overseeing operational and financial performance, and aligning production goals with business growth.
Baum originally joined Hastings in 2019 as an Assistant Controller and has served as Vice President since 2024. Before joining Hastings, he worked at Crowe as Senior Audit Staff for 3 years and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting from Grand Valley State University.
As the great-grandson of Hastings founder Earl McMullin, Baum continues the legacy of family leadership as the fourth generation to guide the company since its founding in 1959.
Baum’s father, David Baum, most recently served as CEO and will transition to the role of Chairman of the Board.
“Brian has been a valued member of the Hastings team since 2019,” said Dave Russell, Hastings’ President. “His accounting background, analytical mind, and forward-thinking leadership have served the company and his family’s legacy well. I look forward to watching him lead Hastings in this new capacity.”
Baum said the promotion to CEO is meaningful professionally and personally.
“The Hastings legacy is my legacy,” Baum said. “I feel incredibly humbled and fortunate that I have the opportunity to continue leading the Hastings legacy, maintain our traditions and customer trust, and bring new ideas to help the company evolve.”
Nick Baum, Brian’s brother, also works at Hastings, joining the company in 2025 as a Buyer to support production by ensuring the components needed to build Hastings’ products are always available.
Based in Hastings, Michigan, Hastings is a family-owned business that manufactures and supplies hot line tools and equipment to lineworkers worldwide. The company’s extensive selection of hot sticks, attachments, and other safety devices is designed with safety in mind.
