4th ANNUAL BARRY COUNTY BREWFEST KICKS OFF
Unique Event Is Hosted In A Different Community Each Year
With Michigan’s craft beer industry continuing to expand annually, in 2016 Barry County got its first ‘taste’ of what the excitement is all about with the launch of the Barry County BrewFest. Held in downtown Middleville that August, the inaugural event attracted nearly 1,000 attendees from throughout the region – despite torrential rain and tornado warnings in neighboring counties.

A new face will be joining the staff at the Barry County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Alliance - in a new role with a new focus.
Aleshia Blauvelt will begin as Communication & Promotions Coordinator for the non-profit community development organization on July 8. Selected from over thirty applicants for the position, Blauvelt is primed for this opportunity.
“I am The YMCA of Barry County is happy to announce that their waterfront renovation project was granted final approval by the Rutland Township Planning Commission on June 5th. The renovation includes a new boathouse, lakeshore retaining wall and steps, bathroom facility, and an engineered foot trail along the eastern property.Jon Sporer, CEO and Executive Director, says the project is an important step to improve the safety of the property and expand the programming opportunities for campers. In addition, the As with any community, strong and meaningful leadership is crucial to that community’s success. That certainly is the case in Barry County, which is why the Barry County Chamber of Commerce serves as the host organization for the ATHENA program.
