During the last two years, SWMLC, Barry County Parks and the City of Battle Creek have worked closely together to permanently conserve the 160-acre property formerly known as Metcalf Lake, located in Assyria Township in Barry County, just 7 miles north of downtown Battle Creek. The Bailey Nature Preserve includes the 35-acre Metcalf Lake and was donated by BARRY COUNTY, MICHIGAN ISSUED BDO ZONE ‘A’ RATING FOR WOODY BIOMASS

The BDO Zone Initiative has issued a BDO Zone ‘A’ rating for Barry County, Michigan for 324,000 bone dry tons per year of woody biomass.The Barry County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Developmentand Ecostrat are pleased to announce the issue of an investment grade BDO Zone ‘A’ Rating. The Barry County BDO Zone is the first rating in the State of Hastings, MI – July 19, 2024 – PFCU Credit Union has donated $5,000 to support the Barry County 4-H program, aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for local youth, particularly in leadership and agricultural education.
